Golden Globes 2015: All About Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s Outfit Changes

We’ll be honest: We’re really tuning into the Golden Globes to hear Tina Fey and Amy Poehler crack hilarious jokes at Hollywood’s expense. But the fact that they give us great clothes to look at at the same time is the cherry on top of the super-sassy sundae.

The most surprising look for the stars?Probably the ones they finished out the night in: An Angelina Jolie-inspired tux with an undone sparkly bow tie for Fey and a plunging midnight blue gown with a butterfly motif for Poehler.

For their red carpet walk, Fey wore a custom Antonio Berardi tea-length dress in white with black paneling and sparkling adornments, including a silver Roger Vivier clutch. “Tina is perhaps the most colorful person I have ever met, so it just seemed right that her red carpet moment should be monochrome,” said Berardi in a statement. Her BFF Poehler sported cobalt Stella McCartney with glittering bracelets and an updo.

And for their hilarious monologue, Fey chose a gown that was nearly the inverse of her red carpet look — black and white and sparkling all over, plus some gorgeous bombshell waves. Poehler let her hair — and her neckline — down, choosing a purple plunging gown with plenty of edgy jewelry to go with.

Golden Globes 2015: George Clooney Wears His Wedding Tux

You already knew George Clooney had it made: Beautiful wife, jet setting lifestyle, face that only improves with age. But here’s how you know he’s got it better than at least half of Hollywood: While every actress in L.A. was trying on (and dieting for) dozens of gowns, Clooney just reached into his closet for his Golden Globes outfit. And he pulled out his wedding tux.

The actor, who took home the Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement award, told the press room he was recycling the look from his September nuptials, after praising his new bride on stage during his acceptance speech. “Amal, whatever alchemy brought us together, I couldn’t be prouder to be your husband,” he said.

But really, can you blame him for wanting to give the suit another outing, considering it was a made-to-measure piece with his name specially stitched into the label, and created by Mr. Giorgio Armani himself? The suit is an ultra-fine wool/cashmere blend, and, like at his wedding, he paired it with a white shirt, black bow tie and oxfords in smooth, brushed black leather.

Clooney has long been a proponent of keeping things simple in the wardrobe department. “I have one tux. Just one,” Clooney told when he was named Sexiest Man Alive in 2006. “It’s a single-button [Armani]. There’s only one mistake guys can make, and that is to try to do anything fancy. Just put on a tux. Just put a tie on, put a plain shirt on, don’t wear a bolo tie, and don’t wear a cummerbund that’s crazy.”

George Clooney reveals Amal’s last-minute Golden Globes preparation

Amal Clooney was showstopping as she stepped out on the arm of new husband George Clooney at the Golden Globes on Sunday night, wowing in a black Dior Couture dress and white gloves.

But George revealed that the human rights lawyer had still been unsure of what dress to wear the night before the prestigious awards ceremony.

“Amal was looking at dresses last night, still trying to figure out what she was going to wear,” he said after accepting his Lifetime Achievement Award.

“I was just watching the football game!”

He added that, in terms of the preparation required, “it’s not fair to women at the awards show… I’m just wearing my wedding tux!

During his acceptance speech, George spoke about finding love with Amal.

The handsome actor was the worthy recipient of this year’s Cecil B. DeMille Award for his lifetime achievement in the world of film, and in his sweet and sincere speech he honoured his beautiful bride.

“It’s a humbling thing when you find someone to love, even better if you’ve been waiting your whole life,” George said, as he accepted his award. “Amal, whatever alchemy it is that brought us together, I couldn’t be more proud to be your husband.”

Amal, could be seen smiling and looking understandably emotional as her husband addressed her from the podium, to a round of applause from the crowd.

22 Ways to wear Cape

Being firstly worn in the medieval times, the cape gained so much popularity lately and became one of the statement fashion cover-ups! Together with the cloak, a longer version of the coat, it filled the 2014 Fall-Winter runways, as it will fill the most passionate fashionista’s closets! I got to admit that I always fancied this type of sleeveless cover-up for the fall season when the weather allows us to get really styled-up by wearing it.

The Biggest Fashion Risk Takers on the SAG Red Carpet

KERRY’S CROP TOP

Image
How do you make something as commonplace on the red carpet as a shrunken tee seem shocking? Oh, you know, just by wearing one while you’re pregnant. Washington has us redefining maternity wear with this revealing pink Prada top.

JULIA’S JUMPSUIT
Image
Roberts has been on her fair share of red carpets, so it’s understandable if she’s grown sick of wearing boring old gowns and decided to shake things up with a plunging, very wide-leg pink onesie.

CLAIRE’S TEXTURE MIXING
Image
We’re into sheer. We’re into silk. We’re into color-blocking. We’re into paillettes. But are we into all those things at once? If anyone can convince us that this Vionnet gown works, it’s Danes.

EMMA’S FANCY FLATS
Image
After ditching the heels at the Globes, Thompson clearly learned her lesson. She selected Louboutin sandals without even a hint of a heel. Somewhere, Shailene Woodley is smiling smugly.

MARIAH’S FINGERLESS GLOVES
Image
Perhaps trying to debunk her reputation as a diva, Carey attempts to convince us that she took, not a limo, but rather a motorcycle to the awards show, hence the need for those badass and perplexing leather accessories.

CAMILA’S YELLOW
Image
Lena in a bright-yellow sweetheart gown didn’t win you over, but McConaughey gives it a go in a bold-hued Donna Karan Atelier design. (One thing that’s not up for debate: how stunning that draping is.)

MAYIM’S VICTORIAN HOMAGE

And here we were thinking you couldn’t go wrong with on-trend lace. Then again, we didn’t expect to see the dainty fabric over a heavy lavender dress in the form of a mock turtleneck with ruffles, as Bialik wears it.

NATALIE DORMER

natalie-dormer-1-435 natalie-dormer-2-435 natalie-dormer-3-435We asked that a star show up on the red carpet with a major hair change – and the Game of Thrones actress answers our wish! She sent our jaws south by debuting a half-shaved do, which she claimed was “liberating.”

CATE BLANCHETT

ImageImageImage

The actress shows off the open back of her Givenchy halter by wearing her hair in a side-parted, low, deconstructed bun.

SANDRA BULLOCK
ImageImage
Her Lanvin dress needed little accessorizing to stand out and it didn’t need a major hairstyle either. Sandra opts for a simple, but slightly messy (in a good way), low bun with plenty of volume at the crown.

MALIN AKERMAN

We knew at least one braid would pop up on this red carpet, but we didn’t expect to see anything like this. Malin sports a thin plait that starts at the nape of her neck and takes a left turn toward her ear, adding volume at the crown.

CAMILA MCCONAUGHEY
ImageImage
You’d be forgiven for giving all your attention to her marigold Donna Karan Atelier gown and missing her hair completely, so allow us to refocus your gaze on her perfect half-up do with a few loose pieces framing her face.
